Drum Pulleys

All Luff drum pulleys are manufactured from pipe which results in no welded seams on the face of the pulley. These are then machined to a tolerance of .010” TIR. Drums are used for many applications on a conveyor, such as Drives, Snubs, Gravity Take Ups, and Tail Pulleys.

Self Cleaning Pulleys

All wing style pulleys are jig welded and have guaranteed concentricity. Individual wings prevent accumulation of material between and belt and pulley. Reinforcing rings are provided on all wing pulleys over the diameter size of 14” when bought from Luff Industries.

Mine Duty Pulleys

Standard size drum and wing pulleys are also available in mine duty construction. These pulleys have increased material thicknesses for a very rigid, conservative design. They were originally specified and used for underground mining operations where the abusive environment demanded a heavier duty pulley.

Engineered Class Pulleys

An engineered pulley is one which has been specifically designed to meet load conditions of a particular conveyor . Specific information is required for proper and economical design. Information such as belt speed, Tons/Hr, T1 and T2, Idler Spacing, and Horse Power are things needed to properly design such a pulley.
